The Conductor & The Cowboy Story

A brief history of The Conductor & The Cowboy and Feeling This Way.

Early Years

Having worked in video game production for 10 years with EA and Eidos, Adam had started his musical life working in video game production providing music and sound effects for video games for a variety of systems including , PC, Playstation, Xbox, Amiga, Atari ST, C64, Spectrum.

Dance Music

After doing a remix of Sonique's "It Feels So Good", Adam got 1000 white labels pressed up ready to put them out. The day before he was due to start his DJ mail out, Adam thought he'd better contact the record company to see what they thought about this. Naturally they were none too happy and hinted at the benefits of avoiding the labels legal team. All was not lost though as the label manager asked Adam to send him the remix, and the rest is history as they say...

The label loved Adam's remix and signed it on the spot. They were going to re-release "It Feels so Good" because it had only charted at 117 when it had been released the previous year. As luck would have it the label were already in the process of getting new mixes done for the new release and it was decided that Adam's remix would go on the release package. The label then asked Adam for something original...

Conducting the Cowboy

Adam met Lee through a mutual friend, after asking around if anyone knew of a vocalist to use on his next track. It just so happened that Lee had a sister that could sing too. Bonus! Adam had written this uplifting instrumental track, Lee & Laura laid down the vocals and Lee played the guitar part, this all came together as the track "Feeling This Way", however the project needed a name. In hindsight, it was an obvious choice once it was suggested by Adam's girlfriend Sel. Adam has a tendency to 'conduct' the breakdowns and builds in a track before the drop. Lee often wore a cowboy hat out when he went clubbing. And so The Conductor & The Cowboy were formed and the track "Feeling This Way" was born. Adam had also decided to put his Sonique "It Feel So Good" remix out as a The Conductor & The Cowboy remix too.

Massive Support

Both tracks received massive support from DJ's like Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Judge Jules, Pete Tong, Scott Bond, Matt Darey, Graham Gold, Alex Gold, John Kelly, and many more. Feeling This Way went to number 5 in the club chart and no 34 in the UK top 40 pop chart! Almost unheard of for a trance club track back in 2000. The track has gone on to become one of the most beloved Trance classics of all time.

The Conductor & The Cowboy would continue on remix duties for Sonique, working on another 3 more remixes for her as well as some other very well-known artists such as Dina Carol, Tukan and more...

Conductor & Cowboy 2.0

After Adam and Lee went their separate ways, and with Adam's growing frustration with the EDM problem in the scene at that time, he took a break from producing for a few years. When he decided it was time to return, he also wanted to replace the band members that had left. Quite organically, he found natural writing partners in his close friends of many years, Rob & Aero. He now has a new production partner and a new song writer/vocalist. They have joined the line-up in 2019 for the relaunch. During Adam's break from producing, some of his time was spent building a brand new studio. It was built from the ground up with no compromises and so this very much is Conductor & Cowboy v2.0.

Adam has returned to the scene with what can only be described as a nuclear bomb of a track. A remix of the classic "Mr & Mrs Smith - Gotta Get Loose - The Conductor & The Cowboy Remix" which immediately received the #OhYeah tune of the week on SolarStone's PureTrance Radio show #194 and was also played on the main stage at Luminosity Trance Festival in Holland by Solarstone as he closed the night with an amazing headline set. Less than 12 hours later Solarstone again dropped the remix at the Dreams Festival in Toronta Canada and it "went off in a big way, even people that didn't know the original track were rocking to it". So The Conductor & The Cowboy are back with a bang!
